Atharva Veda, or the Veda of the fire priest Atharvan, is a collection of metrical incantations and spells that developed mainly at the beginning of the 1st millennium BC. in central North India. Consists of 20 books (the largest, the 20th book, is borrowed from the Rig Veda). A complete translation of the Atharva Veda into Russian is planned. The first volume, which includes the most ancient books (I-VII), was published in 2005. The second volume includes books VIII-XII. The length of the hymns is more than 20 verses. The hymns of this part are more closely related to the ritual of sacrifice. The commentary is complex: these are linguistic, philological and mythological explanations.
